German Marinaded Bratwurst
German Marinaded Bratwurst!
German Marinaded Bratwurst in beer makes up for a great main dish served with sauerkraut. Two options to finish, either in a pan, or on a grill.
Ingredients for German Marinaded Bratwurst:
- 12 bratwurst
- 1 to 2 bottles of your favorite beer
- 1 large onion
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Preparation:
Put the sausage in a large casserole. Cut the onion in quarters and than in slices. Mix the beer with the spices and add the cut onion. Bring the marinade to a boil. Cook it on low heat for about 3-5 minutes. Spread cooked marinade over the sausage. Cover the casserole and let the sausage stand in the marinade over night (or at least for two hours) in your refrigerator.
Finishing on the grill:
Prepare your charcoal or gas grill until it has reached a medium heat. Apply oil or cooking spray on the grill’s cooking surface. Place sausages on the grill for about 16-20 minutes—turning them evenly from time to time. Place the onions on aluminium foil and have them as well on the outside of your grill for about 5 minutes. Careful not to burn. Serve them with the German grilled bratwurst and DONE!
