Saint Patrick’s Day
Saint Patrick’s Day is an Irish Holiday celebrated each year on March 17th. Many events take place in the United States on Saint Patrick’s Day to honor the Irish, a large group of immigrants. The theme color for this Irish Holiday is green, and one of their good luck symbols is clover, the symbol of luck on New Year’s Eve for Germans. A German grandmother found out, what the Irish have in common with the Germans.
Oma likes to share with you traditional Irish recipes for food and drinks prepared with a German touch. Brisket with cabbage and potatoes and the popular Shepherd’s Pie are main dishes. An angel cake made with Irish cream liqueur is the right dessert accompanied with a glass of homemade Irish coffee.
