Meringue Cookies Recipe

This basic Meringue Cookies Recipe is easy to prepare. All you need for the basic Meringue Cookies Recipe are egg whites and sugar.

  • 4 eggs XL
  • 200g (7.05 oz) of sugar

Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. (You can use the egg yolks for a delicious dessert — like Oma’s Apple Casserole). Beat the egg whites until stiff and add the sugar slowly.

Use a decorating bag with a tip that you like and press the batter onto a baking sheet covered with baking paper. The size of a cookie should be about one inch.

Preheat your oven to 100° C – 212°F. (Making meringues is more a drying process than a baking process). Place the Meringue Cookies on the middle rack of your oven and bake between 1 hour 45 min and 2 hours. Open the oven door and leave the Meringues in the oven until , until they have cooled down.

      Martina I used two sheets with about 35 cookies on each sheet. It is depending on how big each cookie is. The size of my cookies have been about one inch.
