Homemade Chicken Salad – Hühnchensalat
The dressing for the Homemade Chicken Salad is made with pineapples.
- 1 whole, fully-cooked roasted chicken OR turkey leftovers
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 3 hard-boiled eggs
- 2 tablespoons of ketchup
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 can 227 g ( 8 oz) of crushed pineapple (in natural juice—not syrup)
- 2 tablespoons of sour cream
You can either roast your own chicken, or pick one up that is already prepared. For this recipe, you can also easily substitute with turkey.
Remove the meat from the bones and cut the meat it in small cubes and pieces. Spread the crushed pineapples (and its juice) over the chicken, along with thinly sliced hard-boiled eggs (I used an egg slicer). Mix the oil with the sour cream, ketchup, salt, and pepper together. Pour the dressing over the chicken, eggs, and pineapple and toss with large spoons or salad hands. Best served chilled.
